Here are some photos of the UBC Day of the Longboat! According to an information brochure, the Day of the Longboat is a competition where a team of 10 people paddle a huge canoe through a "one of a kind" 2km course that includes a beach start, a cone pickup, and 3 big turns. The race took place at the Jericho Sailing Centre at Jericho Beach. Beside the photos here, you can also look at some photos in my friend's Yu Zhen's blog. (Actually, the photos in Yu Zhen's blog were taken by me. I was not taking part in the competition, so I could stand on the shore and take photos of my friends in the longboats.)
